Business CCTV Installation Toronto
Straightforward security camera systems for single-site businesses. Usually 4 to 16 cameras, recorded on site, viewable on your phone, installed in a day with the cable hidden properly. No subscription, no jargon.
If you run a shop, office, clinic, restaurant or a single warehouse and you want cameras that actually work, this is the page for you. We install proper IP camera systems for small and mid-sized businesses across Toronto and the GTA — recorded on your premises, viewable from your phone, and cabled to the same standard as our network work. Running several sites or need analytics and a VMS? Our commercial CCTV page covers that instead.
How Many Cameras Do You Actually Need?
The most common question, and the one most installers answer with "as many as possible". Here is a realistic starting point by business type. We confirm it at the site visit.
| Business type | Typical cameras | Where they go |
|---|---|---|
| Retail unit / shop | 4 – 6 | Entrance, till, stockroom door, wide floor view |
| Professional office | 4 – 8 | Reception, entry doors, server or file room, parking |
| Clinic or dental practice | 4 – 8 | Entrance, reception, dispensary or stock, rear exit |
| Restaurant or cafe | 6 – 10 | Entrance, till, bar, kitchen pass, rear door, patio |
| Small warehouse or shop floor | 8 – 12 | Dock doors, aisles, office door, yard, perimeter |
| Multi-unit or larger site | 16+ | Worth reading our commercial CCTV page instead |
Fewer cameras in the right places beats more in the wrong ones. A camera pointed at a wide open sales floor gives you an unidentifiable figure. The same camera at head height covering the doorway gives you a face. We would rather install six that work than twelve that produce footage the police cannot use.
What's Included In Every Install
4K IP cameras
Enough resolution to identify a face, not just notice a person. Infrared for night, weather-rated where they are outdoors.
Recorder sized properly
An NVR with enough storage for the retention you asked for. Footage stays on your premises and you own it.
Cable run properly
Cat6 through the ceiling, dressed and terminated to the same standard as our network cabling. Not stapled along a skirting board.
Phone and desktop viewing
Configured and tested before we leave, with logins set up for whoever needs them.
Handover and training
We show you how to review footage and export a clip, because the day you need it is not the day to learn.
Written quote first
Itemized price before any work starts. No change orders for anything we could see at the survey.
Three Things That Decide Whether Footage Is Useful
Most disappointing camera systems fail on the same few points, and none of them are about the camera brand.
Camera height and angle
Cameras mounted high on a wall looking down give you the top of a hat. For identification you want roughly head height at a choke point — a doorway or corridor everyone passes through. One well-placed camera at an entrance is worth three overviews.
Lighting, especially backlight
A camera pointed at a glass shopfront in daylight will silhouette everyone walking in. This is the single most common reason footage turns out useless. We check it at the survey and either reposition or specify a camera with proper wide dynamic range.
Honest retention
Thirty days at 4K across twelve cameras needs real storage. Plenty of systems get sold with a recorder that quietly overwrites after nine days, and nobody finds out until they go looking for something from three weeks ago. We size for the retention you actually asked for.

That is the free survey. We show you exactly what each camera will see before you commit to anything.
Business CCTV: Common Questions
Most small sites need fewer than people expect. A typical retail unit or clinic is well covered by 4 to 6: entrance, till or reception, back door, and one wide view of the floor. A small warehouse or multi-room office usually lands at 8 to 12. Rather than selling you a number, we walk the site and mark positions with you.
Yes, and it is set up as part of the install. You get an app on your phone and desktop, with logins for whoever you choose. We configure it, show you how it works, and make sure remote viewing is actually running before we leave rather than emailing you instructions.
Every camera we install has infrared for night vision, which gives usable black-and-white images in complete darkness. Where colour at night genuinely matters — a car park or a loading door — we can specify low-light colour cameras instead, and we will tell you when it is worth the difference.
Typically 30 days on a standard setup, though it depends on camera count, resolution and how much movement there is. We size the recorder for the retention you want and tell you the real number rather than a marketing figure.
No. The recorder keeps recording whether or not the internet is up, because it is wired to the cameras directly. Internet is only needed to view remotely. A power cut is the thing that stops recording, which is why we usually recommend a small UPS.
Not with the systems we install by default. You own the recorder and the footage stays on your premises, so there is no monthly fee. Cloud options exist if you specifically want off-site backup, and we will explain the trade-off rather than defaulting you into a contract.
A typical 4 to 8 camera install is one day. Larger sites or ones needing new cable pathway run to two. We work around your opening hours, and we tidy up properly — cable is run in the ceiling and dressed, not stapled along a wall.
It depends on camera count, cable runs and whether pathway already exists, so we quote after a free onsite visit rather than guessing over the phone. What we can promise is an itemized written price before any work starts, with no change orders for anything visible at the survey.
